Sunday, Day 2

We opened for business today with a crowd gathered outside our Internet tent lining up to get more information about the Little League Network. Of course, many were there to also register for our give-away and to pick up their collectable trading pin.

We opened around 4 PM and closed at 7 along with all of the other sponsors. During this very short first day opening, we have had 98 people register for our give-away.

As part of the registration for the give-away, I thought it would be fun to include a couple of questions. One is which team do you think will win the Little League World Series and the other has to do with the trading pin we're giving away.

Part of the design of the pin includes 16 stars which represent the 16 teams playing in the World Series. But, there are a total of 17 stars on the pin. So, the question asks what do you think the 17th star represents?

Both questions have had some interesting responses so far and I'm sure as the days go on the results will change but here are the leaders thus far:

Who do you think will win the World Series?
1st - West (Rancho Buena Vista Little LeagueVista, California)
2nd - Southeast (Maitland Little LeagueMaitland, Florida)
3rd - Northwest (West Oahu Little LeagueEwa Beach, Hawaii)

What do you think the 17th star represents?
1st - Little League Volunteers
2nd - Little League Baseball
3rd - The Challenger Program

There are many more answers to the 17th star question but these are the leaders. However, so far only 3 people have picked the correct answer and you'll have to wait until the end of the series to find out what the correct answer is.

Later this week I'll highlight a few Little League Network sites that administrators have stopped by to show me. It always amazes me how creative some people can be. And, if you have a site you'd like me to highlight, just send the the address.

Well that's it for tonight.
